We provide market-leading project management, design, construction, installation, testing and commissioning for power generation facilities. Our expertise spans nuclear and gas-fired power stations with carbon capture technology to renewable energy sources including offshore windfarms and hydrogen production facilities.
We can deliver both single and multi-disciplinary projects, either self-delivering or managing construction, utilities, groundworks, civil engineering or mechanical and electrical engineering work packages. This is made possible through our dedicated and highly skilled workforce, as well as our trusted network of supply chain partners. We have the flexibility to work at any project level, be it tier 1, 2, or 3, and can seamlessly integrate with partners to create the best team to deliver.
Nuclear new-build and nuclear decommissioning
With a track record spanning over 70 years, we have extensive expertise across the nuclear industry including in new build, decommissioning, fuel cycle and defence projects. Our current projects include large scale civil engineering projects including Hinkley Point C Tunnelling and Marine Works and three frameworks at Sellafield, where we play a crucial role in the safe decommissioning of the facility over the next 18 years.
Carbon capture
As part of the Carbon Capture Alliance, an alliance formed of Technip Energies, GE Gas Power, Balfour Beatty and Shell, we’re proud to have been selected to assist in the design and development of optimal technical solutions for Net Zero Teesside’s pioneering planned 860MW power station and carbon capture and compression plant. The alliance unites four global leaders, with over 110 years of successful project delivery and proven carbon capture technology, ready to create a lasting, sustainability legacy in Teesside and the UK.
Renewable energy
Harnessing the full potential of renewable energy sources can be a challenge due to their location. Our innovative access and piling solutions have been instrumental in unlocking the untapped potential of remote renewable energy sources across the UK.
We have a strong foothold in the offshore transmission market, thanks to our project financing capabilities, investing equity in offshore transmission projects (OFTO) regulated by Ofgem. These connections are an integral part of a comprehensive offshore wind generation programme supporting the Powering Up Britain: Energy Security Plan.
To enhance our capabilities and broaden our reach, we have signed a memorandum of understanding with Aker Solutions, a renowned provider of integrated solutions, products, and services to the global energy industry, to deliver end-to-end design and construction solutions for the concrete floating and gravity-based UK offshore wind sector, complementing our existing skills, resources, and extensive experience.
